We cook delicious meals, bake cookies, and spend time just enjoying the holidays with the ones we love. One staple that seems to be a go to for most, is making sugar cookies. These are great because the kiddos can easily get involved and help cut out or decorate these delicious treats. These days can also be stressful at times for us big kids. Having a delicious holiday coffee drink to put you in the holiday spirit can definitely be a game changer!

This Homemade Sugar Cookie Latte is a perfect fit for these special times! It brings two of our favorite things together and makes for a delicious holiday coffee drink. If you’ve read my other recipes, then you know this is very easy to achieve with a few steps and some simple ingredients. So let’s get baking with my latest holiday coffee drink and enjoy ourselves a sweet and delicious Sugar Cookie Latte!

What Is A Sugar Cookie Latte?

A Sugar Cookie Latte is a blend of two of my favorite things! Cookies and Coffee! This can be achieved two different ways. One by starting with my basic latte recipe, and adding cookie butter coffee syrup and a couple other flavors, and the other being made from scratch, adding all the individual flavors yourself to create that yummy cookie butter taste. I don’t mind using the coffee syrups if I’m short on time, not to mention they are very tasty. I feel though, if I’m going to make something so decadent, I want to take the time to do it from scratch. I absolutely love trying new things and knowing that I don’t need to spend money at the coffee shop to enjoy my favorite holiday coffee drinks!

What Will You Need?

This is a super simple recipe so you don’t need much, and what you do need, you probably have stuffed away in your cupboards already. Well, maybe all but one.

  • Let’s start with some milk. Now some people like to put almond extract in their sugar cookies to give that added flavor, so Vanilla Almond Milk would work perfect for this. It is thick and creamy already, so it just adds to the latte that much more. Whole milk will work great too since it is thicker as well. Though you can use any milk you like, of course, these are just some suggestions.
  • Now you will need coffee. Preferably coffee that is close to an espresso coffee. You can buy espresso coffee pre-ground, or you can use the strongest coffee you can find. Dark roasts work very well for this.
  • Next you will need your flavors! Some cinnamon (optional), some vanilla extract, and of course, the most important one will be the cookie butter. This comes in a jar like peanut butter and can be found at various grocery stores or online.

NOTE: If you choose to use the cookie butter flavored coffee syrup, you can omit the actual cookie butter. All other ingredients remain the same, and you can add about 1/2 tablespoon of the cookie butter syrup (to taste) to the milk mixture while heating. Follow all steps below.

How To Make Your Homemade Sugar Cookie Latte:

  • Grab a pot and add 1-1 1/2 cups of your milk of choice, along with 1 1/2 tablespoons of cookie butter or 1/2 tablespoon cookie butter syrup (to taste), 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional), and 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  • Heat together on the stove.
  • While your milk is heating you can start your coffee, brewing  1/2 cup strong coffee OR 2 oz. espresso.  This way they will both be done at the same time and no need for one to wait for the other and get cold.
  • When milk mixture is at your desired temperature (I usually dip my pinky finger in to test this), and your coffee is done brewing, pour the milk mixture into the coffee.
  • You can top with colored sprinkles, sugar sprinkles, cinnamon, whipped topping, or anything else you may like to make this Homemade Sugar Cookie Latte that much more delicious!

Serve with a side of homemade sugar cookies to really make this the decadent treat that it is!
