Private Reserve 100% Kona Coffee

I have wanted to try this coffee for a while now, and have finally gotten a chance to do so! Well worth it for sure!

Grown on the slopes of the Mauna Loa Volcano in Hawaii, Koa Coffees Private Reserve 100% Kona Coffee displays all the unique qualities of the beloved Hawaiian coffee beans, which are exclusive to Koa Coffee. Coffees grown in volcanic soil are some of the best in the world due to all the nutrition that comes from it. Not to mention the higher altitudes and proximity to the equator that makes for the perfect growing conditions for the coffee trees.

This coffee has a deep, full body, with a distinct coffee taste that is pure deliciousness!

It’s no wonder Forbes named Koa Coffee “Best Coffee in America”!

100% Kona Coffee

When I made my first cup, the grind alone told me that this was going to be a great coffee. I always buy whole bean and grind per cup, and I can tell by the way the beans grind whether it will be a good coffee or not. When I ground the beans, they ground very evenly and had a nice layer of oil from the roasting process. This added to the richness and smoothness of the coffee.

I grind my beans to a little bigger than table salt, but not as big as kosher salt. I’d say one step up from an espresso grind. This way I get all the rich flavors and aromas from the coffee beans right in my cup!

With or without sweetener, this coffee will have you happy you got out of bed in the morning. I like to use the pour over method of brewing, but a drip coffee maker would make a good cup also. If you have a french press you could even use that and enjoy a really full-bodied cup of coffee. I feel no matter how you brew, the outcome will taste great! This coffee is that good!

Koa Coffees Private Reserve 100% Kona Coffee has no bitterness to taste, as the acidity is extremely well-balanced. I enjoy a nice even cup of coffee with all the flavors from the bean and the roasting process, and this coffee has met the bill.

Like I said above, with or without sweetener, this coffee will put a smile on your face and have you feeling all warm and delicious inside. I feel like this would make for a great iced coffee too. 1. Hey Angela,
Really insightful review into various coffee, never really heard or try a different coffee but from reading your post i am willing to test and try out the Koa coffee i have recently indulge more into ice coffee based on the increase heat lately, do you think this has an more appeal than a normal iced latte.

    • Hi Fisayo! I am glad you enjoyed my review! I too love a good iced latte. The difference between the iced coffee and the iced latte is the way it is prepared and the type of coffee you choose to use. If you are buying from a cafe, the latte will be made with espresso and milk, and the iced coffee will just be coffee brewed, cooled, and pourd over ice, until you add your own milk/cream or sugar.
I feel that Private Reserve 100% Kona Coffee would make a delicious iced coffee and a really strong cold brew. In the end, it is up to you and what you prefer. Me, I like it all!!
